Experience the beauty of Minneopa State Park at night with a candlelight hike through the scenic Minneopa Creek River Valley. Hike along a 1-mile loop illuminated by hundreds of candles, creating a magical winter wonderland. The self-guided hike is available anytime between 5 to 8 p.m., with potential additional trails depending on the weather and snow conditions.
Gather around campfires with friends and family to warm up and enjoy free hot chocolate, courtesy of the Friends of Minneopa. Limited parking makes carpooling highly recommended.
This special event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Minneopa State Park in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
To join, please meet at the Group Camp Parking Lot anytime from 5 to 8 p.m.
The program is free to attend but requires a valid Minnesota State Parks Vehicle Permit. These may be bought online at MN DNR State Parks Vehicle Permit or at the park office.
