Rudi Hargesheimer is an award-winning photographer and author of Superior Trails: A Photo Tour of Lake Superior’s Best Hiking Trails, The Superior Hiking Trail Story, and The Superior Hiking Trail Story: The Trek Continues.
Rudi will take us on a tour of select Minnesota parks and trails, presenting their beauty through his award-winning images. He’ll also share short stories of Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota (P&TC) projects that directly helped create those parks and trails. Rudi will close with a preview of his new book on the trails encircling Lake Superior: Superior Trails: A Photo Tour of Lake Superior’s Best Hiking Trails.
Rudi Hargesheimer is a long-time member of P&TC who served twelve years on its board of directors. He also served as a board member and president of the Superior Hiking Trail Association, and as a manager Midwest Mountaineering, which was named the Number One Outdoor Retailer in America in 2010.
Since the 1970s, Rudi has focused his camera on outdoor adventures and landscapes. His images have earned awards at art fairs and have been featured in regional publications including Lake Superior Magazine and MN Trails Magazine.
Rudi is also the author of The Superior Hiking Trail Story (2020) and The Superior Hiking Trail Story, The Trek Continues (2023).
