While beavers can do all of the above, being a rodent is the reason why they are able to chew and knock down impressively large trees. Their muscular jaws and continually growing teeth, a trait of rodents, allow them to knock down a five-inch tree in just a few minutes.

Bald eagles mate for life. The couple typically return to the same nest or area and usually lay 1-3 eggs each year. Male and female bald eagles are also dedicated co-parents and work together to raise their young.

Before hibernation, bears enter a period called hyperphagia where they can consume up to 20,000 calories per day, helping them increase fat reserves for the winter.

Blue Mounds State Park and Minneopa State Park are the two state parks in Minnesota where you can see a bison herd. At Blue Mounds, they can be seen from the bison observation deck and at Minneopa, visitors can drive their own vehicles through the bison range.
