Webinar Recording: DNR new framework for working with Friends Groups

Amidst the striking autumn foliage, a river with rapids meanders between rocky banks. The words "Meeting for Friends Groups MN DNR MOU Overview" invite viewers to explore a Webinar Recording. A play button is centered, while "Parks & Trails" is in the bottom right corner.

On February 26, the Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota facilitated a webinar for Friends Group leaders to learn about the new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) developed by the MnDNR. This MOU outlines a framework for how Friends Groups and the DNR can collaborate.

The development of this MOU has taken several years. Throughout this time, the Parks & Trails Council has provided feedback to DNR staff, as have many Friends Groups. It is new, and there will inevitably be elements that need tweaking, however, the final version released this year is a strong improvement and offers a framework for navigating the relationship.
