Urging passage of State Park Replacement Land Bill
Minnesota State Park lands are to our vital to our state’s ecological, social, and physical health. Protecting them is a responsibility we uphold, not just for today’s generations but for those who come after us.
Two state parks were de-authorized last year. While both closures had valid reasoning, they nonetheless represented a loss of 1,900 acres from our state park system.
Our state park system is too vital to be shrinking. Help ensure that this invaluable state park land is replaced!
Urge your legislators to sign on to the bills authored by Senators Scott Dibble and Mary Kunesh, and Representatives Athena Hollins and Cheryl Youakim. If passed, these bills (SF 247/HF 1314), would create a state park land replacement fund for creating a new State Park or State Recreation Area or expanding an existing one.
Help us build support for these bills! Chances for bill passage are greatly increased as more legislators sign.
