Subd. 16. La Crescent; Wagon Wheel Trail $ 2,500,000
For a grant to the city of La Crescent for phase three of four phases of the Wagon Wheel Trail project, including predesign, design, engineering, and construction of a grade-separated crossing of marked Trunk Highways 14, 16, and 61 near downtown La Crescent that will connect to the existing Wagon Wheel Trail.

Extend trail to the river by building a trail bridge and safety improvements, connecting downtown La Crescent to the Mississippi River.

Project Impact
This project would fund the construction of a bike and pedestrian bridge over Highway 61. The bridge will provide a safe and reliable crossing for trail users who seek a safe route and access to downtown La Crescent and La Crosse, WI. The bridge is an important element of the Wagon Wheel Trail that will allow access to the Mississippi River trail system and other local trails in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
