Community Grants

Overview

Community grants support bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted advocacy initiatives that make bicycling easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities.

Application & Review Process

Application Deadlines: October 11, 2024

The next round of PeopleForBikes Industry Community Grant Program opens on September 1, 2024. Applicants can submit a Letter of Interest through a form on this website until October 11, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Applications are evaluated based on project quality, benefits to the community, measurement and evaluation, community support and partnership, role of grant funding, and project diversity.

Funding Amount

Up to $10,000

Grant requests need to have at least 1:1 grant match. A specific percentage match is not required, but leverage and funding partnerships is considered very carefully. The grant program is funded by partners in the bicycle industry, such as Batch, Cannondale, Giant, Niner, Shimano, Trek, and Vaast.

Eligibility

Projects

Bike paths, lanes, trails and bridges; mountain bike facilities; repair stations, bike racks, and storage; bike parks and pump tracks; programs that transform city streets; initiatives that are designed to increase ridership or infrastructure investment.

Applicants

501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, city or county agencies, and state or federal agencies working on a local project are eligible to apply.

Land Type & Geography

The program funds bike projects across the U.S. While parks and trails are not the specific focus, park and trail projects with a bicycle focus may be eligible.
