Please join Randy (Rudi) Hargesheimer on Wednesday, August 10th at the Whitewater State Park monthly HOP Program. Rudi is a native of Rochester who spent many days of his youth exploring the wilds of the Whitewater Valley. For this program Rudi will turn his attention northward toward Lake Superior. He will share with us his knowledge and experiences of the Superior Hiking Trail. Rudi is the author of the book, The Superior Hiking Trail Story, just out in 2023. This new book offers many historical stories gleaned from interviews with hikers, volunteers, and Superior Hiking Trail Association staff. New and long-time hikers will all enjoy the rich history of how the trail grew from nothing in 1986 to over 300 miles in length today. Rudi will have copies of this book available for those who might want to purchase it.
