Join us to learn how technology is helping us to navigate in the outside world. We’ll take time to learn the legacy of the GPS satellite system and how changes in policy have allowed us access new and powerful tools. The innovations in GeoPDF’s have moved us beyond the paper map and enhanced our ability to catalog and navigate our adventures in the outdoors.
As part of this session we will take time to learn how the free Avenza Maps app. can be used to help us navigate with GeoPDF’s using our smartphones. We will also look at what GeoPDF resources are available through the MNDNR and beyond.
During the second half of the session we will learn about geocaching and how you can create, explore, and share this fantastic family activity. We will even have the chance try and find a geocache first hand.
