The Gateway Brown’s Creek Trail Association is looking for volunteers to assist in a bench building project for the DNR. Several of the benches along the Gateway Trail are in poor shape and many are not ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant (they lack armrests).
GBCTA is having a session for a group up to 8 volunteers to assemble benches from DNR supplied materials. There is a standard ADA design which involves cutting lengths of 2 x 4’s and 2 x 6’s and then fastening them together .
The next session is planned for Saturday March 14th 2020 9 am – 1 pm at Ian Harding’s house at 24 Bertha Ct, Mahtomedi, MN . Coffee/juice and donuts will be on hand. If you have a cordless screwdriver, a measuring tape, and/or a circular saw please bring them for your own use at the event.
Volunteer Information
If you are interested and able to assist on Saturday March 14th please register online. All participants should be over 18 years of age and have some basic carpentry skills. Please bring safety glasses and work gloves if you have them
