Join us in-person for our monthly H.O.P. (Healthy Older People) into the Park program made possible through the Friends of Whitewater State Park!
This month we will learn about the most important star in our galaxy and how you can safely observe it. Weather permitting, we will get outside to have a demonstration. Presenting will be Randy Hemann, President of the Rochester Astronomy Club.
We will talk first about fundamental understandings we have of our nearest star, some tools to use and other ways anyone can safely observe the Sun, and lastly if clear skies allow, we will actually take a look at the Sun with specially adapted telescopes and binoculars.
