Lake Maria State Park and all Minnesota State Parks will hold their annual Open House on Saturday, June 8 from 8 am to 10 pm.
The State Park Open House coincides with National Get Outdoors Day—a great opportunity to get outdoors and explore Lake Maria State Park. No vehicle permit is required to enter Minnesota State Parks on Open House Day. The activities planned for the day include:
- 10:00am: Summer Camping demo by Ryan Fox
- 11:00am: Backpack basics demo by Steve Brown
- 12:pm: Bring your own sack lunch—we’ll provide coffee and apple juice
- 1:00pm: Wilderness First Aid demo by Ryan Fox
- 2:00pm: Storytelling by the WonderWeavers
Volunteers from the Friends of Lake Maria group will be on hand all day at the Trail Center to answer questions about the park and offer hiking and recreation suggestions.
