Everyone is invited to Frontenac State Park’s Candlelight Ski / Showshoe / Walk Party on Saturday January 27 from 5 – 8 p.m. Come join in the annual candlelight event. Enjoy a hike, ski, or snowshoe on 2 different lit trails – 0.4 mile loop and a 1 mile loop. The trails will be lined with ice luminaries. All are welcome to warm up by a wood fire and relax with a cup of hot chocolate and snacks provided by the Frontenac State Park Association. Visitors can also join in games, puzzles and coloring in the shelter. This is a family friendly event.
We hope for clear skies because the moon will be up that night – four days before it becomes the Super Moon – Blue Moon. Conditions should be ripe for wonder and amazement.
Frontenac State Park is located on Goodhue County Road 2, just east of US Hwy 61. The Park is 10 miles SE of Red Wing and about 5 miles north of Lake City.
