Award-winning photojournalist Brian Peterson presents Minnesota State of Wonders, a photo project that captured the four seasons from the reawakening of life at Big Bog State Recreation Area in spring, to frozen waterfalls at Cascade River State Park in winter. It is a spectacular reminder of the stunning beauty preserved within Minnesota’s parks and trails.
Since her election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1989, Rep. Hausman has been a tireless champion for parks and trails. As chair of the Capital Investment Committee, she was lead author of the two largest investment packages that Minnesota’s state parks and trails had received in a generation. In 2008 her work secured $57 million worth of investments, including the establishment of Lake Vermilion State Park. Then, in 2014, despite facing stiff pressure to cut projects from a bonding bill, Rep. Hausman was resolute in securing $34 million for state parks and trails.
