The Friends of Tettegouche State Park invites you to a reception for glass mosaic artist, Bailey Aaland. Bailey’s work will be featured throughout the month of June in the Visitor Center at Tettegouche State Park.

Bailey has been exploring the world of mosaics since she first attempted to make one at her cabin on the Gunflint Trail in 2007. She started by using broken plates as her material (or tesserae in mosaic lingo) and learned the process through books and info she could find on the internet. From 2007 to 2011, Bailey worked as an apprentice artist under Sharra Frank through the program COMPAS/Artswork – an experience that taught her the ins and outs of making mosaics big and small. In 2012, Bailey graduated from Luther College with a B.A. in Art and set out making custom pieces for businesses in Decorah, IA. Bailey has created works for Bank of America in cohort with the Hennepin Theater Trust, Art Partners Group, and the Minnesota Orchestra, among others. She currently lives and works in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Come meet the artist. It’ll be fun!
