Key Findings

  • On average, Great River Bluffs State Park’s trails are 2.4 times busier in the spring than in winter.
  • Weekends account for 49% of total traffic during the winter and 60% of total traffic during the spring.
  • Trail use peaks in the early afternoon (1pm – 3pm) in both the winter and spring.
  • Ski trail grooming accounts for an estimated 20% increase in park-wide trail traffic during the ski season.
