This is a fun fall celebration for the entire family sponsored by the Friends of Bertram Monticello Community Center, Wright County Parks and the YMCA Day Camp Manitou.
The Friends put on hay rides, find the apple in the haystack, pumpkin painting, rock painting, face painting, hot apple cider, campfire and s’mores bar. Activities such as archery at the YMCA portion of the park.
We have done two different photo contests and there were some very good entries. Cash prizes were given to the winners. We may do another photo contest in the future! Now that the land is completely acquired and a lot of new amenities have gone into the park, there will be great opportunities for new perspectives.
In the past we have done a Snow Sculpture Contest in combination with the city winter fun day at the Monticello Community Center, and we awarded small cash prizes. We have not had this the last few years due to weather; however, this winter would have actually worked very well! We hope to bring this back for next year as it was a popular event.
