Subd. 7. Chester Woods State Trail $2,500,000
To complete construction and paving of phase one of the Chester Woods State Trail from the city of Rochester to Chester Woods Park in Olmsted County.
The Chester Woods State Trail, part of the planned Whitewater Country Loop Trail, will connect Rochester to Chester Woods County Park and, eventually, the city of Eyota and Dover. This phase of the project would complete a beautiful 5-mile trail along Bear Creek, connecting Rochester to Chester Woods County Park, and begin land acquisition for the future trail into Eyota.

Bills (HF 1494 & SF 1176) drafted that appropriate $2.25 million (note: this is just $25,000 short of the identified need above) to complete construction and paving of phase one of the Chester Woods State Trail from the city of Rochester to Chester Woods Park in Olmsted County.
